AD&D Resurrected

Another new item for April is Dungeons & Dragons Classics, Vol. 1, returning the classic DC Comics Advanced Dungeons & Dragons series to print for the first time!

An ancient evil rises and once again threatens the Realms, and only a motley band of adventures can stop it. A surly dwarf warrior and his benevolent centaur companion, a gladiator who survived the arena, a fallen paladin, and a timid half-elf must somehow find a way to work together if the Realms are going to survive the coming darkness.

This action-packed volume collects the first eight issues of the fan-favorite series by writers Michael Fleisher, Dan Mishkin, and artist Jan Duursema. With an all-new cover by Duursema, colored by Joana Lafuente, of IDW's Transformers.

Printed from the original film, this full-color 200+ page trade paperback will retail for $19.99.

  1. Hey,

Very nice work with all the D&D comics line, and it s nice to get these old DC ones re-issued in tpb.

Also, I have to say I am glad I found your blog as it s hell to find up-to-date info on these releases on IDW's website...

Now, I d like to know if IDW is willing to release in tpb all other DC's D&D comics as Dragonlance, Spelljammer and Avatar ?
Or even the graphic novel "The Dragonlance Saga" ?

Also, will the tpb contain the annual issues too ?

And last question, but DC's, is there any project of re-issuing other publisher's D&D comics ? (like Kenzer & Co's, TSR limited editions, etc)

Thanks in advance for your answers !

  2. We hope to print the entire DC D&D catalog eventually, but no plans for the Kenzer or TSR comics. The TPBs will contain the Annuals.

    Thanks for stopping by!

Heh September for the FRC2... XD
Well... time to learn to be patient. :P

Btw, do you plan to include (in the last volume maybe ?) the RPG material (chara sheets / maps / monsters sheets etc) that often appeared at the end of DC issues ?

  6. The first volume includes the back matter, and the rest will, too, as long as there's room.
